US / UCT Piano Exchange concert

The Piano Department of the Stellenbosch University joins forces once again with the Piano Department of the University of Cape Town for their annual “Piano Exchange” concert on 27 and 28 September 2016.

This year the theme is two piano works. The University of Cape Town students will perform Arnold van Wyk’s Three Improvisations on Dutch Folk Songs; two pieces from Olivier Messiaen’s Visions de l’Amen and Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Suite for Two Pianos No. 2, Op. 17.

The Stellenbosch students will perform Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saëns with narration by Philip de Vos.

As always the students will perform at both institutions – Tuesday 27 September will be at the Baxter Concert Hall, Cape Town at 8.15pm and Wednesday 28 September will be at the Stellenbosch Konservatorium Fismer Hall at 8pm.

Tickets for R50 (regular) and R30 (students and pensioners) are available now through Computicket and at the door. For more information contact Fiona Grayer at concerts@sun.ac.za or 021 808 2358.
