Heart FM and Gagasi FM announce partnership with Mediamark in Gauteng

Cape Town, 5 August 2015: Heart FM and Gagasi FM have appointed media sales house Mediamark as the strategic sales partner in the Gauteng region to further enhance the brands beyond FM. The partnership took effect on the 1st of August 2015 and will replace the contract previously held by United Stations.

All other sales channels at both radio stations will remain the same. Advertisers can thus contact the stations directly for any Cape Town or Durban related sales enquiries.

The move is part of the stations strategy to grow their share of the national market and further expand the brand into new areas of opportunity.

Mediamark comes with a wealth of experience in the industry representing some of the biggest radio stations in the country including East Coast Radio in KZN, Smile 90.4FM in Cape Town and Jacaranda FM in Gauteng.

Heart FM Managing Director Renee Redelinghuys explains the reasoning behind the move. “A rapid changing environment such as the one we find ourselves in requires businesses to be agile, hence our move to Mediamark to represent us in the Gauteng region. The national market is very important to our business and we believe that this partnership and the business model we will be using will ensure that the Heart FM brand is top of mind and that we see an increase in our share of revenue from this region.”

Gagasi FM Managing Director Vukile Zondi says the partnership is in line with the strategic direction the business is taking. “The partnership will redefine our business approach in a sense that for the first time we will have a dedicated Johannesburg sales force for Gagasi and we are very excited about it. This is a very strategic move for us, as it will allow us to streamline our interaction with trade in this highly competitive region. We have big plans in terms of creating marketing solutions across on-air, digital and events platforms and the Mediamark stable is an ideal environment for us to actualize those plans.” says Zondi.
